What is recorded here

Two stones still stand on the SE slopes above Brandon Bay, 1.4m apart in a rough NE-SW line. The taller NE stone rises 3m, the thinner SW stone 2.5m, and local story links them with Glas Ghaibhneach. A third stone lay nearby until it was removed in 1977, leaving the pair to mark the ridge like a threshold half-remembered.

A pair of standing stones located on the SE slopes of the low ridge that borders Brandon Bay between the mouth of the Owenmore river and that of the Scorid and Glennahoo rivers. They stand 1.4m apart, in a rough NE-SW line. The NE stone is 3m high and .7m x .9m at base; the SW stone is 2.5m high and 1.1m x .3m at base. A 3rd prostrate stone lay immediately N of the last but was removed in 1977 (Ó Nualláin 1978b, 66). The stones are associated with the legendary 'Glas Ghaibhneach' (An Seabhac 1939, 237) as are those at Ballineanig (KE042-095----). Two other standing stones are located c. 200m to NNW and 180m to NE respectively (KE035-037---- and KE035-041----). The above description is derived from J. Cuppage (compiler) 'Corca Dhuibhne.
