What is recorded here

Situated on S-facing slope of a ridge, in pasture, with wide views to S and W. Washford House lies c. 125m to SW. Annotated ‘Standing Stone’ on OS 6-inch map. Monument described in 1978 as an upright limestone slab (approx. H 1.95m; base Wth 1.9m; T 0.3m) with slightly rounded top which currently stands inclined at an angle of 45°. Probably dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, this standing stone may have had ceremonial or territorial significance, possibly aligned with solar or ritual practices common in prehistoric landscapes. No specific folklore is recorded for the site.
