Standing stone in Gibstown

Situated on E-facing slope of a low rise, in pasture, with good views of the surrounding landscape. The stone is neither depicted or named on the 1837 OS 6-inch map or on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map. Monument described in 1978 as an upright limestone slab (approx. H 1.2m; base Wth 0.5m; T 0.3m) which is irregular in elevation. The area around the stone has been trampled by livestock resulting in the stone being situated in a small hollow. Compiled by Alison McQueen, Vera Rahilly and Caimin O’Brien.
