Knocknakilla holds a rectangular standing stone two metres twenty tall, widening at the top like a rough chisel mark on the sky. It leans through forestry on a northwest-facing slope in County Cork, still pointing southeast as if waiting for someone to read the line it drew. People may have set it there to mark a boundary, honour a dead person or watch the season turn. The trees have grown around that purpose, but the stone keeps its shape and direction unchanged.

In forestry, on NW-facing slope. Stone (H 2.2m; 0.61m x 0.45m) is rectangular in plan and widens towards the top. Long axis NW-SE.
