What is recorded here
Situated on the summit of the hill of Knockdoo, a small steep-sided gravel hillock. Price (1934, 41) refers to a standing stone (H 0.96m) which was removed in the 1980s by someone other than the landowner. It is said to have had three close-set impressions likened to 'the paw print of a dog'.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
