Knockaphreaghane held a standing stone nearly two metres tall, more round than square, until someone removed it around 1980 and buried it in the bog to the east. The stone vanished not through decay but through deliberate erasure, its shape and purpose swallowed by wet earth and forgotten. What remains is a hole in the landscape where a marker once stood, its meaning lost to the same hands that dragged it underground.

According to local information, removed c. 1980 and buried in bog to E. Stone (H c. 1.8m) was "more round than square".
