What is recorded here
Knockainy West holds a fallen giant, a 1.45m stone lying fifty metres east of the ringwork like a forgotten sentinel. Its original position is unknown, suggesting it tumbled from a higher purpose or was buried by time and human folly. The stone does not pretend to be a monument; it waits for someone to remember why it stood before gravity claimed it.
In 2004 this possible standing stone was described as 'This stone, 1.45m long, was noted lying on the ground approximately 50m to the east of the ringwork [LI032-131----]. Its original position is unknown' (Condit and Coyne 2004).
