Standing stone in Kilcranathan

Bowman (1934, 14) recorded 'Dallan' on J. Tarrant's land; 'Local folklore tells the story of a man who stole a calf near this well when passing by the Church [CO032-16002-], St Cranathan was waiting for him. The Saint ordered the calf to be returned. The man refused, and was turned into stone by the saint. This stone stood as silent evidence of the veracity of the story until some years ago when a hole was dug at the base and the dallan buried there.' Exact location not known.
