What is recorded here

Gurteenard in County Cork once held two standing stones, but only fragments remain. Bowman recorded one in 1934 as a broken piece roughly eighteen inches high and fifty-seven inches around, set within M. Lyon's portion. The exact spot has vanished from memory, leaving behind a ghost marker rather than a visible stone. What is left is the shape of loss: a place that still asserts itself through absence.

One of two stones (10028) recorded by Bowman (1934, 207) in this townland; 'In M. Lyon's. Portion was broken. The remaining part is c. 1ft 6in high, by 5ft 7in girth'. Exact location not known.
