Gour held a tall stone beside ancient hut and enclosure markers until men removed it during the 1970s. Its absence turned a familiar valley into an incomplete chamber, inviting people to imagine what the stone witnessed or served. Distance alone does not explain why the place still feels occupied; memory has finished building the shape that the valley lost.

In rough peaty hill pasture, on the S side of a sheltered NE-SW valley to the NW of Bealnagour. According to local information, a standing stone (0.76m x 0.61m; H c. 2.44m) stood at this location until it was removed in the 1970s. A hut site (CO1127-060001-) is situated c. 20m to the S and an enclosure (CO127-060003-) is c. 20m to the N. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
