What is recorded here

Two recumbent stones in Derragh, County Cork, measured thirty-five and forty inches across in 1934, yet no one can now point to the field where they lay. They may have marked a boundary, a burial or a forgotten road, but the men who walked past them are gone and the land has swallowed their purpose. What remains is a gap shaped like a stone, waiting for someone to remember what it supported.

Two recumbent stones recorded by Bowman (1934, 272) in J. Hickey's, c. 100m W of unlocated standing stone (9955). '(b)...3ft 11in by 5ft 10in girth..., (c)...22ft E of (b)...4ft 1in by c. 7ft 3in girth (ibid.)'. Exact location not known.
