Cloch na gCursa is a heart-shaped boulder beside a Cork graveyard, the fixed starting point for rounds around St Laserian's holy well on July 25. People have treated its unusual shape and saintly name as a reason to keep returning, making the stone a living marker rather than a forgotten rock.
On S side of passageway leading to graveyard (14610). Large irregular boulder (H 1m; 0.8m x 0.76m) somewhat resembling heart in shape. Known as 'Heart stone' and 'Cloch na gCursa (The Stone of the Rounds)' (Bowman 1934, 269). According to Grove White (1905-25, vol. 3, 89-90), stone marks 'grave of Lateerin'. Locally known as St Laterian's Stone and burial place. Rounds, starting at this stone, are made around nearby St Laserian's holy well (14026) on July 25 after mass in burial ground.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Linked to a tradition of pilgrim "rounds" or walking rituals, the stone is associated with healing practices and local devotion, possibly connected to an early Christian saint or spirit. Its heart-like shape may have contributed to its symbolic significance in fertility or love-related folklore.
