Clooney holds one standing stone, but the archive offers no further detail. The absence of a story does not diminish the stone; it refuses to be reduced. A tall mark in County Clare, it may have guided herds, marked a boundary or witnessed a funeral. Whatever it recorded, it still stands while tongues and archives fail.
