Standing stone in Barnland

Marked only on the 1940 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a SE-facing slope of Laraheen Hill and at the head of a small NW-SE valley. It was described in 1939 as a squat stone with a rectangular cross-section at ground level (dims c. 1.15m NW-SE; c. 0.95m NE-SW) and a NW-SE ridge (H c. 1m) OSFM). It was not visible at ground level in pasture in 1987. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
