Fulacht Fian

Marked as a fulacht fia only on the 1940 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is situated in the fold of an ESE-WNW stream close to its source, and c. 450m from the N-S River Bann. It was recorded in 1939 as a C-shaped mound (Wth 2-4m; H 0.3-0.6m) open to the E (OSFM), and it was noted by Ranson (1945, 54) as being at a place called Fintracawn. The stream now rises from a stone-lined and lintelled well, but there is no visible surface evidence of a burnt mound.
