Ballylawn holds a 1.72m stone, wide enough to shadow a person and thick enough to resist forgetting. It stands on land sloping toward Lough Swilly, pointing northeast and southwest as if marking a route rather than merely occupying a field. In that place, even an ordinary stone becomes a witness: visible from a distance, steady in rain, and old enough to make human life feel briefly measured.
