Tullyaughnish Old Church Graveyard holds the buried dead from the church Sir William Stewart built near completion in 1622. The church remained in use until a new parish church appeared in 1822-6, so the graveyard collected two centuries of local birth, marriage and death before people stopped carrying coffins across that ground. Stones may be plain now, but each marker once pointed to a person whose name has faded from memory while the earth kept the shape of their life.

Tullyaughnish Old Church (DG046-005002-): Built by Sir William Stewart, the church was near completion in 1622 (Hill 1877, 525; Treadwell 1953-5, 42).
