SS Richard Montgomery was a British steamship that sank in 1944 off the coast of Kent, UK, after hitting a mine during World War II. The vessel remains a hazardous wreck, still containing a large amount of unexploded ordnance, and is significant as a potential risk to nearby communities and maritime traffic.
