Killane, on the west border of Ballianlondry, held Templeen Church atop Curraghturk Hill in 1657. The summit location suggests worshipers climbed toward the sky before gathering beneath it. Men levelled the church before 1840, erasing its markers but not the shape of the hill or the reason it once called people upward.
Westropp (1904-5, 454) recorded the following details about the site of Templeen Church situated on the summit of Curraghturk Hill; 'Perhaps Killane, on west border of Ballianlondry, 1657 (Petty, 74). Site - It was levelled before 1840'.
