Ballinkillin is a castle site in County Carlow, Ireland. An 1839 map marked it as a castle, but no walls or stones remain visible. The land may have worn the building away, or people may have taken everything useful and left the memory behind.

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Marked 'Site of castle' on 1839 'OS 6-inch' map. Very slight rise in ground surface, but no structural traces visible.

Site of Castle, Ballinkillin was a 14th-century stone castle built by the Fitzgerald family, also known as the Earls of Kildare. It is remembered as part of the extensive network of medieval strongholds that controlled the strategic midlands region of Ireland.
