Freestanding pole mounted rectangular cast-iron road sign, erected c.1940, having curved corners, text in Irish and English and harp motif. Located on roadside.

This is a notable example of early twentieth-century street furniture. Its simplicity and clarity of design are typical of its time with its functional nature being enhanced and emphasised by the high quality casting using capital letters in a clear simple font without serifs. Its raised harp motif indicates that the date of installation was after the foundation of the Free State.
