Freestanding cast-iron pole mounted rectangular road sign, erected c.1940, with text in Irish and English and harp motif cast in raised relief.

This is a notable example of early twentieth-century street furniture. Its simplicity and clarity of design are typical of its time with its functional form enhanced and emphasised by casting using capital letters in a clear simple font without serifs. The inclusion of its harp motif indicates a date of installation after the foundation of the State.
