Siege of Clonmel

Oliver Cromwell besieged Clonmel in 1650. The largest town in County Tipperary stood on the River Suir, its walls facing armies that wanted honey meadows and trade routes. Men may have watched the water carry smoke past the Comeragh Mountains while they decided whether to hold or flee.
