What is recorded here
The central of three contiguous hut sites (see KE084-024001-, KE084-024004) within the internal NE corner of an enclosure (KE084-024004-). This hut site abuts the E wall of the hut site (KE084-024001-) to the W and the W wall of the hut site (KE084-024004-) to the E. The remains of this rectangular hut site (5.1m N-S; 3m E-W) are defined by a partially-collapsed, drystone wall (T 0.6-0.8m; H 1.1m at W). There is an entrance (Wth 0.75m) in the E wall, situated off-centre to the S. This entrance is opposite a similar break in the E wall of the adjoining hut site (KE084-024004-) and allows access to the latter. The interior slopes down to the S and is scattered with loose stones. There is an enclosure (KE084-024002-) c. 20m to the N.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
