Sheepfold

In rough hill pasture, on the S-facing slope of Mangerton Mountain, on the W bank of a stream. A square area (4.5m E-W; 4.4m N-S) defined by a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.5m; H 0.6m). A farm road overlies the location of the W and part of the N walls. The road has collapsed into the interior, making the interior slightly higher than the surviving walls. A dense growth of rushes obscures the walls of the enclosure. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
