Likely dating to the 12th to 13th century, the Sheela-na-gig carving at Taghboy is associated with medieval Christian Ireland and may have had symbolic or ritual significance, often linked to fertility or the life cycle. Such figures are commonly found on ecclesiastical sites, though their exact meaning remains debated.
