Group of detached cut-stone sandstone buildings originally part of Scarriff Union Workhouse complex, built c. 1845. Two-bay single-storey lodge, now in use as outbuilding. Gable-fronted single-bay two-storey building, now in ruins. Section of boundary wall and entrance piers with wall-mounted cast-iron post box addition. Pitched slate roofs with cut-stone chimneystacks, cut-stone gable copings and cast-iron rainwater goods. Coursed cut-stone sandstone walls. Pointed arch door openings and square-headed window openings with cut-stone architraves, some retaining diamond paned windows, some now blocked.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
