Ruaidrí Ua Conchobair was born around 1116 in Tuam, County Galway, becoming the last High King of Ireland before the Anglo-Norman invasion. He spent years imprisoned and rebelling against his father Toirdelbach Ua Conchobair before seizing the crown in 1166. His reign stretched until his death in 1198, marking the final chapter of native Irish high kingship.
