Mausoleum, dated 1830, including Tudor-headed door opening with cut-limestone plaque in west wall of Rockstown Church [SMR LI022-109001-].

A mausoleum inserted into the west wall of the ruined Rockstown Church which was described in the Ordnance Survey Name Books as 'a church [which] in older times was a friary [but] is now a ruin covered in ivy' [SMR LI022-109001-]. The cut-limestone plaque is inscribed: ""Erected by/JOHN KELLY Esq./A:D 1830"". There is evidence that Rockstown Church was adapted as a burial place long before the arrival of Kelly and another plaque is inscribed: ""Here rests what remains of James Barry of Friarstown and his wife Anatisa 5th in descent of David Barry of same 1655"".
