What is recorded here

Located in the E part of graveyard (WI039-011002-), a thin, flat slab of schist stone (L 0.93m; Wth 0.63m; T 8.5cm) with 23 randomly scattered cup marks (avg. diam. 3- 4cm; D 0.5cm - 2cm), on one face. The largest cup has a diameter of 5cm. The surface has clearly flaked away, and is particularly noticeable along one edge. There are no cup marks on the opposite face. Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, the cup marks on the schist slab at Preban may have had ritual or symbolic significance, possibly linked to water, fertility, or celestial observations. Such rock art is often associated with wider ceremonial landscapes, though local folklore or specific use remains undocumented.
