What is recorded here

Located in the W part of graveyard (WI039-011002-), a decorated stone (0.64m x 0.43m; T 0.32m) the flat face of which has a series of faint circles that have been formed by light pecking. There are at least three conjoined circles at the top of the stone, below these is a circle with a pock mark at the centre and beside this is a pair of conjoined circles. At the bottom of the stone is another circle with two internal pock marks. The circles range from 9cm to 11cm in diameter (Corlett 2013, 12). Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, the rock art may represent symbolic or ritual markings, possibly linked to funerary practices given its location near a graveyard. The circles could signify celestial bodies, territorial markers, or have a ceremonial significance.
