Section of rubble limestone quay walls to east and west banks of Roaringwater River, built c.1820, with coping slabs. Rectangular-plan harbours (east bank) with flight of steps (south harbour) and stone mooring (north harbour).
This quay is an important reminder of the maritime activities that traditionally supported the local economy. It may be associated with the nearby mill or quarry mines which were opened in 1835. It was constructed using locally-sourced materials, probably by local people and blends in well into the landscape.
