Road, road/trackway

What is recorded here

Unlocated ancient roadway within townland described by Feehan as 'The church of Dysert Gallen for instance is situated at a crossroads in the valley of the Owenbeg river north-east of Ballinakill, in the townland of Aghnacross, which may mean the ford of the road crossings. According to Canon O'Hanlon , the two roads which met here were crossed in turn by four other old roads all going up the hills in various directions' (Feehan 1983, 456-7). The Owenbeg River valley running from Dysart church to Attanagh vai Ballinakill was known locally as the 'Black Pig's Valley' which may suggest its use as an ancient roadway (pers. comm. C.
