What is recorded here

Haywood Demesne holds a circular earthen mound with a flat top, possibly marked by faint ditches at its south-east and south-west edges. The mound stands in the private grounds of Haywood House, where its shape still reads as a made place rather than a natural hill. It may have been a castle, a watch point, a boundary marker or a ceremonial hill, but no surviving account names the hands that built it.

Situated in the grounds of Haywood House. A circular flat-topped earthen mound (summit diam. c. 18.6m; base diam. c. 40m, H c. 3.5m - 9.5m) with possible fosse at SE and SW.
