What is recorded here
The site (L 2.2m min.; Wth 0.5m min.; D 0.14m) is orientated N-S and consists of two longitudinal, closely set oak planks. The timbers are half-split (diam. 0.166-0.18m) and end of one appears to have been chopped bluntly but toolmarks are not apparent due to the poor condition of the wood. A third radially split plank (L 0.92m; Wth 0.13m; D 0.12) is present in the opposing drain face, directly aligned with the other two timbers. The site is situated in well-humified Sphagnum peat containing fibrous remains.
