What is recorded here

The site (Wth 2.5m; D 0.42m) consists of a dispersed deposit of brushwood and twigs. The brushwood is deposited in two concentrations set 1.27m apart between which beds of twigs and dispersed brushwood are found. The NE deposit (Wth 0.75m; D 0.07m) consists of parallel pieces of brushwood up to two elements deep. The SW concentration (Wth 0.58m; D, 0.11m) is less regular and cohesive, with some heavier elements at its SW limit. Woodworking is evident throughout the deposit. Wood species include alder, willow, birch, oak and Pomoideae. The site sits in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with some ericaceous remains and Eriophorum. Date of upload: 12 August 2013
