What is recorded here

This togher (L 8.4m min.; Wth 2.2m; D 0.3m), noted in 1988, was orientated ENE-WSW. It consisted of a superstructure of tightly packed longitudinal roundwood and brushwood, beneath which was a substructure of longitudinal brushwood, a transverse oak plank, a half-split ash timber and a small concentration of wood-chips. Seven pegs were noted along its edges. Radiocarbon dated to 1680-1451 BC (3275±35 BP, GrN-16571) (Raftery 1996, Derryoghil 15, 142-3).
