What is recorded here

This togher (L 7.2m min., Wth 4.9m min., D 0.44m), noted in 1988, was orientated E-W and consisted of tightly packed parallel roundwoods (diam. 0.02-0.05m) and one very large ash plank (surviving L 2.1m, Wth 0.45m, T 0.09m) that was used as a foundation. The plank had a double mortice at its E end. Another togher (LF018-081033-) overlay it, at a right angle to it. Radiocarbon dated to 1680-1451 BC (3275±35 BP, GrN-16623) (Raftery 1996, Derryoghil 19, 145-8). Compiled by: Mary Tunney based on data supplied by Jane Whitaker, Archaeological Development Services.
