Road

This togher (L 7.3m; Wth 0.6m; D 0.05m), noted in 1988, was orientated ESE-WNW and consisted of three woven hurdles laid end to end. They were made of a simple under-over weave of hazel and ash. Birch and ash roundwood was used as the sails, most of which had fine toolmarks. Radiocarbon dated to 1369-1023 BC (2965±40 BP, GrN-16563) (Raftery 1990, 6; 1996, Derryoghil 6, 126-7).
