What is recorded here

RMS *Mulheim* was a German steamship torpedoed and sunk by a British submarine on 27 September 1914 during the First World War, off the coast of Cornwall. The ship was carrying a cargo of coal; no lives were lost, and its sinking marked one of the earliest instances of the "naval war" being fought in British territorial waters.
