What is recorded here
Indicated is a long, low court tomb in County Leitrim, Ireland, where a thirty-three-metre cairn still holds chambers cut for the dead. Its main chamber measures twenty-six centimetres higher than a child stands, while two smaller rooms and a broken gallery wait beneath the stones. People may have carried ancestors through that narrow stone mouth, past roofstone and shadow, into the dark ground below.
In an undulating landscape with rock outcrop. A low cairn (dims 33m ENE-WSW; c. 8m N-S) has a single chamber (dims 2.6m x c. 1.5m; H 1.2m) with a roofstone at the SW end, and the remains of a two-chambered gallery at the NE end. There are two subsidiary chambers in the cairn. (Lockwood 1901, 84-6; de Valera and Ó Nualláin 1972, 45-6; Holly 1976, 122-5)
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Neolithic passage tomb, dating to approximately 3500–2500 BCE. Its significance lies in the presence of a two-chambered gallery, indicating a complex funerary structure typical of early megalithic traditions in the region.
