Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Tyrrellstown is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Tyrrellstown, County Westmeath, Ireland. The site sits on a north-facing slope in gently undulating pasture and is described as a small oval-shaped area measuring thirty-four metres north-south and thirty metres east-west. This enclosure is defined by a slight scarp and a narrow, shallow external fosse that remains reasonably well defined to the south, west, and north, though there is no trace of a ditch at the east. The original entrance is not recognizable, and the interior features a slight north-facing slope with what appear to be natural humps and hollows.
Situated on N-facing slope of a low rise, in gently undulating pasture. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as a large roughly circular-shaped earthwork. Monument described as a small oval-shaped area (dims. 34m N-S; 30m E-W) defined by a scarp and external fosse. The scarp is slight and the fosse is narrow and shallow, although is reasonably well defined to S, W and N. There is no trace of a fosse at E, which may have been infilled when an irregular shaped field boundary was constructed to E, since removed. The original entrance is not recognisable. The interior has a slight N-facing slope with what appear to be natural humps and hollows. A wide shallow depression runs into the fosse at SSW. A field fence running roughly E-W is to the immediate N of the monument. Outline of levelled monument partially visible today on Digital Globe aerial photography.
