Megalith was a court tomb on a drumlin slope in County Leitrim, Ireland. Seven upright stones and two prostrate stones rose from a shallow mound before men removed the monument in 1976 after finding human bones. A quarry occupies that spot now, stripping the stones from the hill but leaving behind the certainty that dead people once rested there.
Situated towards the bottom of the E-facing slope of a drumlin. Seven upright stones (max. H 1.2m) and two prostrate stones rising from a mound (dims 9m N-S; 5m E-W; H 0.5m) were tentatively interpreted as the orthostats and jambstones of a SE-facing court tomb (de Valera and Ó Nualláin 1972, 76-7). The monument was removed in 1976 when some human bones were found, and a quarry now occupies the site.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

A Neolithic portal dolmen; dating to approximately 3500–2500 BCE. Its significance lies in representing an early megalithic funerary tradition associated with communal burial and ritual practices in the Irish Neolithic.
