What is recorded here

Indicated stands on a drumlin in County Mayo, overlooking boggy ground and Lough Gower, yet human activity has erased its visible trace. The circular enclosure appeared on maps in 1838 and 1919 before ploughing or development removed its rim. It may have been a home, a shelter or a marker for a boundary now forgotten. The land still holds the shape of what was lost, waiting for someone to imagine it back into life.

In improved pasture, prominently sited on a drumlin, overlooking an expanse of boggy ground to N–NW and an area of mixed grassland to SW. A drain/stream, coinciding with the townland boundary, is located c. 50m downslope to N. Lough Gower is located 300m to W. Circular ringfort-sized enclosure (diam. c. 25m) is shown on the 1838 and 1919 OS 6-inch maps. It has been levelled and there is no visible trace at ground level.
