Structure

An irregular, dispersed deposit (Wth 1.63m; D 0.16m) of a radially split timber, roundwoods and pieces of brushwood. Most of the elements are orientated NW-SE. The larger elements are set 0.18-0.65m apart. These are interspersed with pieces of light brushwood and further material occurs below the water line. The site is in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with some ericaceous remains and fibrous roots. SMR OF010-298---- is 1m to the NE and SMR OF010-300---- overlies the NW extent. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
