What is recorded here
Milling machines broke the oak plank before humans ever saw it, yet it remains whole enough to measure at three metres twenty-eight centimetres. That is a door frame, a bridge edge or a altar rail, stripped of every other piece. The peat kept the cut edges sharp while forgetting the building they belonged to.
An isolated squared oak plank (L 3.28m; Wth 0.07m), damaged by milling (Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (UCD) 1995).
