Drumcondra Castle

Doonamurry Castle still holds its ground on a gravel knoll in County Sligo, its two-storey limestone walls watching the bog through narrow gun loops. O'Donnell captured it in 1516, and centuries later railway builders stripped much of its stone for a line that has itself vanished. What remains is a sharp-edged room without a roof, where the causeway still points inward like an invitation to cross into danger.
