Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Shanballybaun, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the top of a southeast-facing slope as a subcircular grass-covered area measuring thirty metres east-west and twenty-six metres north-south. A shallow scarp and western earthen bank define the perimeter, while a northwest-southeast field wall truncates the eastern edge. Another enclosure sits twenty metres northeast and a cashel stands ninety metres south.

Towards the top of a SE-facing slope. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 30m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 0.1-0.6m) WNW-NE and ESE-WSW with an earthen bank (Wth 4-4.2m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.5m) on the perimeter at W. There is no visible fosse or entrance, but the site is truncated by a NW-SE field wall at E. Enclosure (RO007-043----) is c. 20m to the NE, and cashel (RO007-045----) is c. 90m to the S. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
