Grave Yard in Rosenallis, County Laois, holds a rectangular stone-walled chamber where a nineteenth-century Church of Ireland building still stands beside the vanished shadow of a medieval church and possible round tower. The Hospitallers received the place in 1302, yet human hands pulled the older ruins down around 1834, forcing memory into new walls rather than losing it. St. Brigid’s name remains attached to the site, giving the stones a continuous flame even when their shapes changed.

No surface remains of any medieval church (LA003-016002-) , 19th century church of Ireland church located atop high ground in the village of Rosenallis near the site of the old medieval church which was reputedly located in the associated graveyard of the Protestant church. The ruined church and possible round tower (LA003-016001-) were pulled down c. 1834 and this church was dedicated to St. Brigid. In 1302 Oregan or Rosenallis was handed over to the Knights Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem a nursing order of men in Kilmainham , Dublin.
