What is recorded here

Clear water still moves around Trinity Island, where a small abbey stood from about 1215 until the monastic system collapsed. The church kept its shape through fire, conquest and forgetting, while the eastern range never grew beyond a low shadow of what might have been. Beneath the island, more than two hundred and thirty people waited in dark soil, some of them the first canons, others children and women drawn into the same quiet place. A governor killed at the Curlew Mountains may still lie beside the outer wall, marked by a curved stone that never learned his name but refused to release him.
Trinity Island is recorded as a islet in County Roscommon. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
